Singapore · Wealth Counselling
Specialist psychological support for high-net-worth individuals and families navigating succession, inheritance, and the human complexity of significant wealth.
Financial advisors can manage a portfolio.
Lawyers can draft a will.
But no one prepares you — or your heirs — for what wealth actually does to a family.
Clientele
Patriarchs & Matriarchs
The weight of legacy is rarely spoken about openly. You have built something significant — and now you must decide what it means, who inherits it, and how to prepare them without fracturing the family in the process.
Heirs & Next Generation
Receiving a significant inheritance does not come with instructions. It comes with expectations, identity questions, and a complex web of family dynamics that no financial advisor is equipped to address.
Founders & Wealth Builders
For founders, entrepreneurs, investors, and those in the public eye — this is a space to explore the emotional landscape that wealth creates, but rarely allows you to name: guilt, identity, isolation, and the search for meaning beyond achievement.
The Practice
Evidence-based psychodynamic and somatic therapy grounded in decades of clinical research and practice.
Absolute discretion is the foundation. Nothing leaves the room.
Deep familiarity with Singapore and SE Asian multigenerational family businesses and their particular dynamics, such as Chinese-Singaporean family business succession norms, Malaysian and Indonesian conglomerate family structures and Islamic inheritance considerations.
Wealth does not exist in isolation. Every individual is understood within the context of their family system.
No asset management ties, no financial affiliations. Psychological clarity, undivided. Wealth Counselling operates as an ancillary service — a confidential complement to the advisory teams already in place.
Sessions available in person in Singapore or via secure video. Scheduling adapted to your life.

About Your Clinician
Dr Kaur holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the United States and brings over 17 years of clinical practice across the US and Asia Pacific. Her work spans C-suite executives, high-net-worth individuals, and multigenerational family systems navigating the intersection of wealth, identity, and legacy.
Before her clinical career, Dr Kaur worked as a journalist — a background that informs her distinctive capacity to listen for the story beneath the story, and to help clients articulate what has long remained unspoken.
Her clinical approach is trauma-informed, systemic, and somatic — integrating psychodynamic frameworks with body-based awareness to address the full complexity of the human experience of wealth.

Common Questions
What is wealth counselling, and how is it different from therapy?
It draws on the same clinical rigour as therapy — psychodynamic frameworks, somatic awareness, systemic family thinking — but is focused specifically on the psychological terrain that wealth creates: succession, inheritance, legacy, identity, and the dynamics that form within high-net-worth families. It is not financial advice or coaching.
How is this different from working with a financial advisor or private banker?
A financial advisor manages assets. A private banker structures capital. Neither is trained to address what wealth does to a person, a marriage, or a family across generations. Wealth counselling is concerned with the psychological reality of wealth — the guilt, the identity questions, the family conflict — rather than its financial management. The two are complementary.
Is everything discussed in sessions confidential?
Yes. Absolute confidentiality is the foundation of the practice. Nothing discussed in sessions is shared with family members, advisors, institutions, or any third party without explicit written consent.
How does this practice work alongside existing advisors?
Wealth counselling is designed as an ancillary service — a confidential complement to the legal, financial, and advisory teams already in place. There is no overlap with financial planning, legal structuring, or asset management. Referrals from private bankers, family office advisors, trust lawyers, and estate planners are welcomed.
Initial enquiries are welcomed by email. All communications are treated with absolute discretion.
